Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

This policy explains how the ActivityMonitor Browser Extension and associated ActivityMonitor components handle information.

1. Purpose

ActivityMonitor is a workplace activity monitoring and reporting platform designed for authorised use by organisations on managed computers. The browser extension is a companion component and does not operate as a standalone product.

2. Information collected by the browser extension

When enabled by an authorised organisation, the extension may collect information about the currently selected browser tab, including:

3. Information not collected by the browser extension

The extension is not designed to collect passwords, authentication credentials, form contents, keystrokes, mouse position, background-tab content, webpage body text, images, audio or video.

4. How information is transferred

The extension uses Chrome Native Messaging to send active-tab activity records to the locally installed ActivityMonitor NativeHost application. Depending on the organisation's configuration, the locally installed ActivityMonitor components may store information locally and may transmit it to configured ActivityMonitor cloud services for reporting and administration.

5. How information is used

Information is used only to provide authorised workplace activity monitoring, operational reporting, security review, compliance support and related administration requested by the organisation deploying ActivityMonitor.

6. Access and disclosure

Activity data may be accessible to authorised administrators of the organisation that deployed ActivityMonitor and to service providers that process data solely to operate, secure, support or host the ActivityMonitor service. ActivityMonitor does not sell user data.

7. Retention and deletion

Retention periods are determined by the organisation's ActivityMonitor configuration and applicable contractual or legal requirements. Authorised organisation administrators may request deletion or apply configured retention policies. Individuals seeking access, correction or deletion should normally contact their employer or the organisation that deployed ActivityMonitor.

8. Security

Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or disclosure. No system can guarantee absolute security.

9. Organisational responsibility

Organisations deploying ActivityMonitor are responsible for providing appropriate notice, obtaining any required consent, limiting access and using the service in accordance with employment, workplace surveillance, privacy and other applicable laws.

10. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

11. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when ActivityMonitor features, legal requirements or data handling practices change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated revision date.
